This year marked the 140th anniversary of the Chinese expulsion in Seattle , an important milestone in remembering a painful chapter of local history when hundreds of Chinese residents were forced out of their homes and community in 1886. “Walk to Harbor” Stays as a Staple Event for United Hub
Feb. 23rd 2025, “Walk to Harbor “ parade was successfully held in Seattle. Over 100 paraders walked peacefully from the Hing Hay Park to the waterfront and back. In 1886 expulsion of 350 of Seattle’s Chinese residents, who were forced to board a ship for San Francisco, where they were then deported to China.
