The Thrift & Thread Festival, hosted by United Hub in collaboration with the City of Redmond Sustainability Office was held yesterday at the Redmond Senior & Community Center. The event celebrated sustainability, creativity, and community connection through fashion, reuse, and local talent.


Attendance & Engagement
Over 250 visitors attended throughout the day.
More than 20 vendors and community organizations participated, including local thrift sellers, eco conscious artists and designers, the City of Redmond Sustainability Office, King County Re+ Program and the Redmond Library Senior group.
The event drew a diverse crowd, including seniors, families, students, and local artists.

Highlights
Thrift Market: Shoppers browsed secondhand clothes, vintage finds, and upcycled goods, giving pre-loved items a second life.
Crochet Live Demonstration: Local makers showcased their craft in real time, inspiring attendees to try crochet as both an art form and a sustainable practice.
Glamorous Dresses Display: A curated collection of elegant secondhand and repurposed gowns drew special attention, showing how thrift fashion can be both sustainable and stylish.
Green Plants & Table Décor: The venue was brightened with potted greenery and creative decorations made from repurposed materials, reinforcing the sustainability theme while creating a warm, inviting atmosphere.
Youth Volunteers: Young volunteers assisted setting up,cleaning up and running their own thrifting tables, fostering intergenerational collaboration.
Community Spirit: Attendees enjoyed live music, refreshments, and meaningful conversations about reducing waste and embracing sustainable lifestyles.






The festival successfully promoted environmental sustainability through fashion, encouraged creative reuse of clothing, and strengthened community ties. Many participants shared positive feedback, noting they left with both inspiration and practical skills for living more sustainably.
