United Hub proudly received a $1.5 million grant from the Washington State Department of Commerce to support the launch of the Home Electrification and Appliance Rebates (HEAR) Program.
The HEAR Program is designed to assist low-income families and small businesses across Washington State in transitioning to environmentally friendly electrical appliances. This initiative aims to ease the financial burden of upgrading to high-efficiency equipment, including heat pumps, electrical panels, and other energy-efficient devices.
This program represents a critical step in Washington State's broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and protect the environment. By addressing the economic challenges that low-income families and small businesses face when upgrading to sustainable technologies, the HEAR Program seeks to make these advancements more accessible.
United Hub, known for its commitment to empowering underserved Asian communities through housing justice and equitable development, will work closely with the Washington State Department of Commerce and third-party contractors to implement the HEAR Program. Together, they will develop a comprehensive strategy to raise community awareness and establish an application platform for rebates.
