Yesterday evening, community members gathered at the Redmond Senior Center for a Heat Pump Workshop hosted by United Hub in partnership with Energy Smart Eastside. The event brought together residents from across the Eastside—including Redmond, Bellevue, Sammamish, Kirkland, Mercer Island, and beyond—to learn more about the benefits of heat pumps and how they can make homes more comfortable, energy-efficient, and environmentally friendly.

One of the highlights of the workshop was a technical presentation from energy experts at All Climate, who shared in-depth knowledge on how modern heat pump systems work. They explained the science behind heat pumps, demonstrated their high efficiency compared to traditional HVAC systems, and showed how they can provide both heating and cooling in a single unit.

Attendees had the opportunity to ask questions directly to the experts, making the workshop highly interactive and practical. From understanding the right size of heat pump for different homes to evaluating noise levels and installation requirements, the experts addressed common concerns with clear, actionable advice.

Key Topics Covered

The workshop covered a range of important topics, including:

  • The advantages of heat pumps and their role in reducing household energy use.

  • How to choose the right system for different types of homes and families.

  • Rebates, policy incentives, and tax credits, including the opportunity to claim up to $2,000 in federal tax credits.

  • Strategies for maximizing efficiency and cost savings after installation.

Special Discounts and Community Support

In addition to the educational content, attendees received information about financial incentives, including rebates and policy support. A 20% discount on equipment was also offered to participants at the event—an added benefit for those ready to make the switch.

The workshop was conducted in Chinese to make the information more accessible to local immigrant communities, ensuring that more residents can benefit from these clean energy solutions.

Building a Sustainable Future Together

United Hub and Energy Smart Eastside emphasized that workshops like this are part of a larger effort to empower residents with the knowledge and tools they need to contribute to a cleaner, greener future. With strong community interest and expert guidance, yesterday’s event marked another step toward making sustainable energy solutions more widespread on the Eastside.
